How Consultations Work — and What They Cost
Consultations are available in time-based slots: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. Each slot is billed at a flat fee, published on the fees page before you book. If you proceed to a flat-fee service after the consultation, the consultation fee is credited toward that engagement.
Not sure whether your situation warrants legal counsel? That's exactly what the 15-minute call is for. You get my real attention and a direct answer — not a pitch for services you may not need.

Prefer to Send a Message First?
Use the form below and I'll respond directly. No intake coordinator, no automated follow-up sequence — just me.
What to Expect After You Reach Out
I'm a sole practitioner, which means all communications come directly to me. You won't be handed off, filtered through staff, or left waiting on a callback queue. If you call during business hours, I'll answer or call you back the same day. If you email or submit the form, expect a direct reply — not an auto-responder.
With 30 years of Florida Bar experience focused exclusively on small businesses, I can usually tell you within the first few minutes of a conversation whether I'm the right fit for what you're dealing with.
Frequently Asked Questions About Reaching Dowd Law
How do I schedule a consultation with a business attorney in Brandon, Florida?
Use the Calendly scheduler above to book a time slot that works for you — 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours. You can also call (813) 773-3529 or email info@dowdlaw.com to arrange a time directly.
Do I have to pay for the consultation before I know if you can help me?
Yes — and that's intentional. The consultation fee means you get my full attention from the first minute, not a sales conversation designed to qualify you for a larger engagement. The fee is published on the fees page before you book, so there are no surprises.
What if I only have a quick question — is a 15-minute consultation enough?
Often, yes. A 15-minute call is designed for exactly that situation: you have a specific question, you want a straight answer, and you're not ready to commit to a full engagement. If your situation turns out to be more involved, we can discuss next steps at the end of the call.
Is Dowd Law accessible to clients outside of Brandon?
Yes. I serve clients throughout the Tampa Bay metro — including Riverview, Valrico, Temple Terrace, Apollo Beach, and Sun City Center — and I work with clients across Florida through remote practice. An in-person meeting is never required.
What is the phone number for Dowd Law?
You can reach the office directly at (813) 773-3529. That line goes to me — not a receptionist or answering service.
